Yeah, you really have to check the laws in your area.
But if it were me, the last person sitting in the front middle, would be the youngest. Absolutely no upper body restraint. An air bag is not a restraint.
Like said earlier, I'd probably put the wife in the front middle. Unless one of the oldest kids is larger than the wife.
