What do y'all think those of us without shoulder belts and latch systems do? I have three kids, all in some kind of car seat. My 2006 F250 doesn't have the latch system and the rear center belt is just a lap belt. I put the car seats in using the seat belts and go on my merry way. When they all grow out of car seats, one of them will just have to sit in the middle with the lap belt. We all survived without car seats at all; how is it really any different than it was 30 years ago?
The law can't force you to buy a new vehicle for safety reasons. Heck, in Texas, it's legal for kids to ride in the back of a truck if the cab is already full of your other kids!
