Mine sits on a temporary shelf under the TV. Spring loaded curtain rod across the opening of the entertainment center and a small plastic cutting board slipped under the rod form the shelf. Takes 5 seconds to install or take down for travel. When the shelf is down the receiver sits inside the entertainment center cabinet.

We did our install in a cabinet near the TV. The Dish receiver is standing on its side. The cabinet is closed and isn't visible. We get the remote to work using an IR repeater (available from Amazon for not too much). The IR repeater has a "receiver" that is a small unit you double-face-tape to someplace above the TV. The "transmitter" is attached with double face tape to the IR receiver on the front of the Dish receiver. Plug the IR repeater in and you are done.

We expanded this a bit. We put a transmitter on the TT's built in DVD unit as well. It works like a charm and allows you to put the receiver anywhere it fits.

One dish box is only 2 1/2" thick and comes with an RF remote.

some types RF? of remotes don't need line of sight.

As mentioned there has to be a direct line of sight from the remote to the receiver for the remote to work. It can be any where as long as you can see it and can run a cable from the receiver to the TV.

Don't forget wherever you put it the IR beam from the remote will have to get through to the receiver. It can be located anywhere so long as it can be hooked up to the TV. Why not include a picture of the inside of your RV in this thread. Maybe the ideas would start flowing easier. I have no idea what the inside of your trailer looks like, and have no time to Google it now. :(

Thanks allen8106, I wish that would work, but it wont. Our tv is in a built in area that is only wide enough for a flat screen television. The cabinets above and below are only a few inches deep. Has anyone put the receiver in cabinets or your storage area under the rv?
