As for the tires and wheels, that is unsprung weight, so the only way for that to produce a higher number is if the tires/wheels are rated to carry more weight.
The entire weight of the truck counts as curb weight, even unsprung weight.
I'd also argue that removing a rear bumper, spare tire, jack, radio, and the center console, then swapping in lighter weight wheels lighten a truck a lot more than 50#.
