Usually the trucks with bed delete option go on to have a toolbox body or flatbed installed on them.

Actually, many manufactures that have cab and chassis models, the base tare wt is a stripped rig, with fine print saying a 1000 lbs bed has been added to the number. So in reality, an F250 cab and chassis should weigh more than a pickup bed version with this fine print I have seen on these models back into the mid 80s. Includes larger rigs like MDT's and HDT's also. Not just light duty DOT class 1-3 trucks.
