Our old narrow steps with the 4 additional drop bars would lay flat under the rear of the camper and on the hitch extension. Without the hitch extension they would also fold forward and bungie right up against the bottom of the camper. This could not be done without the drop bars.

Now the hitch was changed over to a pintel for better range of motion on bad roads.

old steps with extensions and no gap between steps and camper. This is the traveling position with the rear aluminum cargo rack installed. When extended, the top step stays in the same position as shown. there is just no landing step. The contents are: 2) 5 gallon low boy diesel fuel containers; 2) plastic containers with firewood, and 1) set of leveling steps in blue bag.
