A little re-bolting, and the gap is now gone. The length was then wrong of course. Too steep for four steps, while five would make them tilt backward. Still too steep with Landing Gear, so I purchased some radius corner aluminum tubing on-line to make them a bit longer. I think we achieved the best compromise between step angle and bottom step height, at least on my flat driveway. Will try them out for real soon.
