Screws for solar panels?

I just looked through the stainless screws available at my local supplier to find the screw with the deepest threads and went with that. I think they were #10 wood screws.

I did try to hit at least one rafter and the rest went wherever the bracket lined up.

Robertson head (square drive) or hex head (so you can put a socket on them)

For a deeper thread I used #10 stainless drywall screws.

Try to hit a rafter with a few of the screws.

Sheet metal screws have a "deeper" thread. That makes them preferable to a wood screw, so long as both are stainless steel.

Dicor the dickens out of them and only go to "snug".

You'd be OK then using Dicor self leveling lap sealant. :)

Never heard of a TVP roof membrane. :h Perhaps you mean TPO? ... if so, depending on the model year of your trailer Dicor self leveling lap sealant is not recommended as there was a time period when TPO roof sheeting being produced wasn't compatible with Dicor. An explanation can be found here.

I used stainless #8 x 3/4 inch Robertson metal screws with lots Dicor under and over the brackets.

I used 1 inch stainless steel wood screws and also 3m double sided tape under each bracket and lots of dicor.
