Thinking of going seasonal next year but a couple of the parks we're looking at don't have sewer connections nor is there a travelling honey wagon. What do you all do to get rid of the contents of your black tank?

Go to a park that offers full hook ups or Honey Wagon services!

I use a blue Barker 30 gallon tote tank to empty my grey tanks. I do not use it for the black tank (personal choice). The grey tanks must be emptied every 2-3 days since we don't do a good job of conserving water. The blue boy works great for this.The black tank takes much longer to fill up. At most we would need to empty it once a week. For this I would prefer to hitch up and take the 5er to the dump station. I know it would be much easier to use the blue boy, but I don't like the idea of black water in it.

I've used my blue boy tank for both gray and black. I see no difference in using it that way. In either case you must be careful not to fill it too far and be careful when you dump. It rinses out well and does not give off odors when not being used.Op, I would get a 22-30 gallon blue boy tank and use it. Sure beats unhooking all the connections, unleveling, pulling in slides, and re-doing it all over again after you take the rig to the dump station.Barney

When you buy a blue boy, get the one that the handle drops over your trailer hitch so you can tow it to the dump station. They get very heavy and hard to pull by hand. I use mine for both Black and gray water. Just rinse it out good after each use, even add a little bleach.

Why put yourself in that situation, camping is supposed to be pleasant..

I don't know of any seasonal CGs that don't have sewer hookup or at least offer honey wagon service. The only time I've camped at a location that didn't have a dump station is at a NASCAR race. I would tow home the full black tank and dump into my sewer cleanout by the curb. It was not a fun experience.

Isn't it great to watch thoise ships. We get up there every chance we get. Have you tried the "Marine Traffic" app? It will show you the position of all ships all over the world. It includes photos and all info on any vessel traveling the St. Lawrence. It's great to know when they're are going to pass by.

I would not consider a seasonal that does not have sewers or, at least, a honey wagon. The contents of a black tank are nothing to mess with...

If your referring to camping without FHU's, I think the large majority of RVers would disagree. There is a lot of camping out there with beautiful scenery and wonderful places to take in nature that are not within sewer hose reach of a sewer dump hole.

Your posted indicated seasonal at a "Park" of coarse Boondocking in many of the remote amazing places is something many of us love, but to go seasonal in a Park that does not offer waste service IMO is unnecessary, with all the Parks around why create that extra work and why Boondock in a Park, it defeats the purpose of Boondocking IMO....

My thoughts exactly:) How would you ever completly clean the tote tank out to avoid some nasty odors. Memory serves me, the blue totes are designed for water not poop:):):)

I once had a fellow camper pointedly poke his finger towards my tote as I was driving to the dump station with my Black load. One of the wheels had fallen off!! Fortunately the pavement had not worn through the heavy tote and my load was still intact whew!! :E :S
