Why close the slides?
I agree with this. I keep mine open always at home. However, I do have a reason to close them. We had a freak hail storm here last year, with hail the size of softballs. (had to replace my car's sunroof, rear window, totally blown out, and new roof on house, along with garage doors) I couldn't believe it. It was incredible. I wouldn't have believed it had I not witnessed the devastation with my own two eyes! Fortunately I had a slide topper, which is chock full of indentations now, but did save the slide-out, which as I've said I always have out, still. So now I can understand closing it, but mine is still open. Haven't fixed the topper yet, since it is still doing its job so far.
