Securing the Honda 2000

I have a question for those of you who are storing your Honda 2000 in the space reserved for the optional propane generator.

How are you securing the Honda from bouncing around in that space. The rear of the truck experiences the most violent bumps and jolts, how do you prevent the Honda from destroying itself in that space?

Thanks!

Mine is not in the location you described, but further back. It would see more up and down movement, if it moved. I use a single rachet strap, and a cable lock. It really takes very little to hold it. Been working for over eight years. I do not remove the Honda, strap, or lock when I run the honda.

That looks very easy for thieves to make off with Gen
I would much prefer out of sight out of mind approach when it comes to thieves.
  • I don't think ours has even moved in the compartment. However I have stuffed in some foam around it keeps it nice a safe from damage if it ever did move.

I don't think ours has so much as even moved in the compartment. It just sits in there without any tie downs. If the back the the camper is jolting hard enough to make it go airborne you have other issues. The rear tie downs are near there and would probably rip loose before a Honda would jump.

Not a bad idea, I would certainly want to through bolt those if I couldn't tap into the TC frame.
  • Mine does not jolt around. With the fiver hooked up the back of the truck does not jolt around either.
