Thanks guys for your answers and questions.
We probably want a van for our other daily activities . our Town&Country is struggling with a twin stroller if we want to head down to the park with a couple of bikes for the older boys.
(it was fine when we went camping before the twins, i actually had all our gear , 3 kid bikes, my folding bike, etc in the back. I LOVE the secret stow & go space under the floorboards it's like an entire trunk in there.)
We are planning on a 4 month coast to coast (one way) trip between jobs. I am from the "east" now, but will be from the west later.
since i'll be selling my car either way, we thought of just buying a class C and buying a car at the other end,
but the more useful option is probably buying a van now that we'll keep. and towing a TT.
btw, what do you guys mean 3/4 ton, or 1 ton? is that the payload rating ?
also about the tow, is it true that the tongue weight is ~10% of the TT weight?
btw about the 240 - 400# of salt, did you mean as dead weight?
