Somehow I get the feeling that the perfect "couples trailer" has yet to be conceived.
Obviously there's no such thing as "the perfect couple's trailer" simply because we're all different and all have different perceptions of what "perfect" means. ;)
I would think it should be:
- Queen Bed - full sized
- Love Seat Sofa
- Dry Bathroom
- no bunks, no fold out dinette, etc - don't want anyone else traveling with us
- approx. 20-21' total length
- 3500 lbs or less when optioned with typical things like AC
- dual axle
- Power Awning, Power Jack
- Fiberglass and Aluminum construction - or at least very well sealed if wood frame
- Designed to be parked outside full time with little deteriation
- Bicycle Rack
- of course Refrigerator, Stove, Microwave
- Price approx $15K - not going to live in it, just vacation a few times a year.
That said, the current version of my Coachmen Freedom Express 192RBS (and similar models from other manufacturers) would seem to come awfully close to your own perception of "perfect". Doubtful though you'll find any dual axle, 8' wide trailer in this category with an actual stickered dry weight under 3500 lbs nor a price under $15,000 US. Remember too that capital cost of the trailer itself is only part of the story as you'll also have to allow for the cost of other critical items such as weight distribution / sway control, brake controller, means to level and chock the trailer, extra power cable, hoses, etc, etc, etc, etc ... the list goes on. JMO, but $15K US$ to set yourself up with a new model in this category is unrealistic. And FWIW, you'll never find any trailer already factory equipped with a bike rack as many owners have no need or interest in one - it'll always be an aftermarket addition, also at additional cost.
