I passed on several trailers BECAUSE they made the dinette small to include a sofa. I love the big u-shaped dinette that takes up the entire rear of our trailer.
Some of what would make a great "couple's trailer" still depends on what you use the trailer for - weekend getaway, long stationary vacation, long traveling vacation, snow-birding, full-timing. Each set of uses has, for every couple, a set of preferred features.
The two things I really got tired of in the old 17' box trailer were: having to roll over the other person to get out of bed and having to reset the interior layout of the trailer every evening and every morning.
So for me that meant - walk-around queen (or full, I might actually trade the queen size for more space) and to get a real mattress, no folding jack-knife sofa.
I also like that the new trailer has a sliding curtain between the bedroom and the rest of the trailer (specifically that the door is on the OTHER side of the curtain, at the the back of the trailer) so that when the early-rising spouse flings the door open while coming back from his walk, the rest of the campground doesn't see me getting dressed.
After some back-and-forth we also decided we didn't want a slide for a couple of reasons: added weight, added mechanical complexity, easy access to the kitchen while at a rest area or short-term stop. I know a lot of people love their slides and haven't had any problem with them, but, realistically, we knew we were not in the market for a top-of-the-line trailer.
