So....that was a long way around, but, you all finally ended up agreeing with the Lexus factory guy afterall. Anyway, welcome aboard! You will find the LX and 192RBS FE really is a great combo. No worries! (and no, you won't be "hurting" your LX470). I have to chuckle a bit...only because if you only knew how what your vehicle is REALLY capable of...you would be looking for an even bigger trailer! lol.
Apparently you find this exercise humourous but if the OP had provided ALL the pertinent information about his Lexus when he first posted we wouldn't have had to go "a long way around". :R Those of us towing with Big 3 iron would consider a 4.30 axle ratio unusually high numerically, especially these days when manufacturers are actually going the other way, with axles like 3.23 and even lower numerically in an effort to improve fuel economy. Doesn't help for towing though and even with improved narrow ratio transmissions replacing the older wide ratio 4-spds one who intends to tow with a Big 3 vehicle is still better off with something closer to a 3.73 axle. Japanese manufacturers went the other way, spinning their engines at much higher revs in order to make the most of HP and torque their engines were capable of but that means utilizing an axle ratio which makes the most of this high spinning design. For these designs 3.73 ain't it ... 4.10 and 4.30 are. Clearly the OP wasn't aware of just how important a detail this is ... so to repeat what I've already said multiple times in this thread "The devil is in the details". How funny is that? :p
