self leveling vs non leveling caulk

Question

I have been using self leveling caulk to try and seal some spot on my roof. I stopped my Camping World on my way home today and picked up 2 tubes of non-leveling caulk, not realizing the non-leveling until I got home.

Now my questions, I know the self leveling does what it says. Does the non-leveling just mean I need to level it myself?

Yes it is stiff and you can place it on vertical surfaces.

I have found that even the "self leveling" stuff doesn't necessarily flatten out like the stuff they use at the factory. I have had to help it smooth it out some, but in general I dont worry too much about it since its on the roof and not visible any way.
