Just bought a new Gulfstream Ameri Lite 268BH Camper. We got a very abreviated walk-through/demo. Not that we needed much as this is our 4th camper, and we have owned several popups and motorhomes, also. However, I just discovered that the holding tanks in this thing are 15 feet apart and the drains are separate! I have never ever seen anything like it. Is this one of the new modern conveniences? I don't think I am going to like this feature. For those who have it - what are your thoughts on this set up?

I also had a Gulf Stream like that. I did not like the set up as I had to dump one then drive forward to drain the other two as it had 3 holding tanks. I sold it after one year of putting up with it

My Springdale has separate drains. They are a little closer together than yours - around 6 feet apart. It's a dumb design, but just an annoyance to me. I'll be sure to look at the next rig closer before we buy it to avoid dual drains.

In most cases where I've seen separate dump points it's because there is 3 tanks. One dump has the grey and primary black tank, and the other a secondary grey tank is this the possibility?

I have a rear kitchen and the bath is in the middle of the unit, same set up with the 2 drains which are about 12 feet apart on mine. I never have a problem dumping them, I just dump the kitchen first and then the black and grey for the bath. I don't leave my hose hooked to the takeoff as I prefer to dump and then put things away again instead of leaving it lay on the ground.

According to the specs here, you have2 gray tanks and 1 black tank.

It is actually a tub shower and it does dump into the same tank as the toilet. It will not backup, because the toilet is lower than the tub bottom and it should have a trap to eliminate odors.

I doubt the shower and toilet go into the same tank on a modern RV. If they did, allowing the tank to fill would force human sewage to back up into the shower floor.

I have two gray tanks and I installed permanent plumbing to join them together. A "Y" in the flex hose was too messy for me to have to deal with.

Maybe not...I did not trace the shower drain. Shower sits aft of the toilet and right on top of the black tank. I will check.

Your shower and toilet wouldn't dump to the same tank. Only the toilet dumps to the black tank. I've had separate outlets too and the 'Y' fitting is the way to go.

We bought a New Kz G384RLT this month, it has two gray water tanks but Kz was smart enough to connect them on the trailer. But there are two pulls, one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom sink and shower .....:)

The Trailer Manual really does not say, but it appears that the shower and toilet dump to the rear tank, and the forward tank receives the kitchen and bathroom sink. After hearing the suggestions I think a Y connector will help make this more bearable. Thanks for the suggestions.

There are times where the kitchen is too far from the bath to run the pipe so the add another tank.

Two separate outlets are usually used when there is a frame cross-member between the two tanks which prevents plumbing the two tanks together.

Our Rockwood has a single outlet for the black and grey tanks, and another outlet further forward for the galley tank.

I have a gallery drain at back of rig and grey and black dump valves near the front. Usually use a Y connector.
