I had an 06 GMC diesel. I put a relay in the charge line to the camper so the power was shut off when the key was OFF. GM trucks have power to the 7 pin all the time from the factory. Check that the fuse is installed for the charge circuit to the trailer plug. They aren't installed at the factory.
If your truck came with the camper package there will be a wire bundle coiled up on the drivers side tucked up on the frame near the front of the box. You just have to put a 7 pin receptacle on in the front of the bed, or you can just run a long extension from the bumper to the input plug on the camper.
I have Torklift tie downs on the 2014 Chevy and had them on the 06 GMC.
I put them on the Chevy myself, not a hard job, but not an outside in March in Alaska job!
Both my trucks came with the GM extendable mirrors so the only things I added were extra convex mirrors.
