Issue #1: On the top of the 12' slide on my 2011 Jayco 256RKS TT, there is some kind of tape near the outer flange of the slide, and the rubber seal where the slide goes in is starting to peel back said tape in several places along there. Pic of the problem is below. Obviously, this will only get worse with time. What is the best repair solution for this? Is there a specific white tape I should use to cover this edge that is beginning to peel back? Or some kind of adhesive I should glue down that peeling edge with? Please advise.Issue #2: On the top corners of the slide next to the body of the TT, when the slide is fully extended, there are matching almost identical bubbles at each end. Below is a pic of one of them, taken from the roof of the TT looking down on the slide. There is no break in the rubber material, and the bubbles feel spongy, like there is either some spongy material inside, or trapped air. Since these two bubbles are almost identical in appearance, I wonder if it is supposed to be that way. Is there a problem? If so, how should I fix it?Issue #3: When the slide is fully closed, on both the front and back, the slide closes much tighter at the top than at the bottom, where there is a gap, such that the seal doesn't appear to me to be quite sealing at the bottom. See 1 pic of the front edge & 1 of the trailing edge of the slide below. I haven't yet noticed any leaks, but we have only had the trailer a few months, and haven't driven it in rain yet. Is the slide supposed to close this way? If not, is there a way to adjust it?I apologize that several pics orientation is off 90 deg, but I had them orientated correctly and the site software switched them 90 deg off.Any expert advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’m going to say the slide needs some adjustment to eliminate the gap at the bottom… the bubbles at the top don’t appear to be normal at all and the tape seem like it was some type of repair and not original…But I am not sure about any of it, it just looks odd…

Issue #1- replace the tape. It is. Likely Eternabond. Removal of the old tape may not be possible so you can carefully cut loose tape with razor and overlap new tape. Issue #2- from the photo, it appears that the roof membrane is separating from the inner side of the slide roof. The only way to get a better look is to move the slide in about 1/2 way and go inside to see what is going on (post photo) Issue #3- it appears the slide is out of adjustment. It is likely a simple fix but will need to download adjustment instructions from the slide mechanism manufacturer website (Lipped, Leland?).

Yes, I believe the slide needs adjusting. How does one figure out what brand slide mechanism one has?Below is pic of the bubble on one end with the slide retracted. (again, sorry, but the pic flipped 90 deg to the right when posting). And there is an almost identical bubble on the other end. As I mentioned earlier, the bubble feels spongy when you push on it, but there is no breaks in the rubber material.

Maybe water got in there and you are feeling spongy wood. Lets hope not.

I would remove inner membrane molding and pull back that membrane and see if any water damage exists on the roof sheathing, and then go from there. Until then, leave your slide closed to prevent further damage. I recommend going to the Jayco owners forum (Google) and ask what slide mechanism you have there.

I would think there is no reason that you can't run a length of 4" wide Eternabond along the entire factory tape and then it will never come up.

I ordered a roll of 4" Eternabond, and I am planning to carefully trim off the sections of the edge of that factory tape that are loose, then clean it and do just as you suggest -- apply the Eternabond the full length of the slide.

OK, I figured out how to adjust the slide so that when closed, the gap between the exterior RV wall and the slide is consistent and it seals properly. On my Jayco, the adjustment is underneath on the trailing edge of the slide. There is not one at the other end -- this one adjustment place adjusts both ends.

See the "can"? When the slide is closed, that bumps the frame. In the pic, my slide is open a few inches. So you loosen the nut at the end of it, then you can turn the can by hand. If as was the case with my TT, the gap was too large at the bottom when closed, you move the can outward so that the bottom of the slide can go in farther when closed. And if you have a gap at the top of your slide when closed, you move it in toward the RV frame to stop the slide sooner.

This was a very simple and quick adjustment, once I found how to do it, so no need to pay an RV dealer. All you need to do it yourself is one large crescent wrench.

I found online that the nut on the very end of the all-thread, is how you adjust how the slide seals against the inside of the RV when extended. That part of mine did not need adjusting, but I understand that is how one adjusts that.

Not 100% sure, but I believe it probably is. I found a truncated 2 minute video online here, and if you watch it, the mechanism looks identical to mine in the pic.

When I called Jayco to ask what slide mechanism my 2010 24FBS has, I was told a V-Tech system which is now under Lippert as you have found out!!
