I'm nowhere near the OP to be of any help, but I do agree on the idea of having one of your own....we are TT newbies and I ordered my scale in last month in preparation for the season. But then, I'm also a "tool guy" anyway! The 125 or so bucks is well worth the hassle saved of going to a commercial scale, IMO......
Oh yeah....I would also gladly allow a fellow RV'er to borrow it, possibly with supervision depending on how I judge their ability to use it without putting themselves / others / property at risk of damage / injury / death.
