Thank you, I'm well aware of the exemptions, I deal with them in the fire department I also work for. In my state we have an exemption for fire apparatus but it's only valid in-state. The rescue team I'm on deploys nationwide so the state exemption doesn't apply. The Stafford Act allows us some leeway in regards to hours-of-service and licensing requirements while deploying to a disaster, but none while traveling home. So, we have to jump through the same licensing hoops as anyone else. Not a bad thing, because we also deploy with 18 wheelers pulling 53' van trailers.
