Which is why, yes, until I get it checked out, I will tow in 5th. However, this does not mean I should.
Duhhhh --- try going 110kph and bring the revs up into more of a power zone for that engine. Hunting will probably stop!!
After reading just half of this thread I'm convinced that Swimmer is COMPLETELY unclear on the concept of torque/horsepower curves, gearing, and modern transmissions and programming. It's also pretty obvious that he/she does not want the answer to his/her question rather he/she just wants to complain about something he/she knows nothing about. Also, quit insisting on your trailer being 3000# and go look at the specs on it. Closer to 5000# loaded with full tanks.
My advise (in addition to the above) is to immediately return the truck to the dealer for faulty muffler bearings and insist on a full refund.
