If you are comfortable with the ride of your truck now, I would not change the shocks.
True, but, what is 'comfort'? I'd argue it includes peace-of-mind. We all know that shocks make a ride smoother or harsher, but there's more than only that comfort.
Take handling for instance. A shock might feel smooth riding, but in an emergency, a bad shock could cause a loss of control or a good shock might save the day.
Then there's tire wear. One bad shock could cause a tire to hop and cup. A driver might not notice that if the other shocks are still functional and the driving surfaces normally encountered are relatively smooth.
If still running stock shocks on a truck with over 50,000 miles on it, I'd pull one off and test it for function and move from there. Could be more riding on a good set of shocks than just a plush ride.
