A search resulted in 21 pages of discussion but nothing definitive I could take away. Perhaps someone can offer some additional information for me... Looking to put new shocks on my 2500 Duramax 4x...

I don't think you're going to find anything definite because you're reading opinions and opinions are as varied as the makes of shocks out there. I think it just amounts to reading what people think and go with the brand that sounds best to you.
FWIW I have the Bilstein 4600 on my Dodge dually and am very happy with them. A good combination of reasonable cost, and high quality.
