I'm on a month long trip with 3 adults and 4 kids that are 7, 8, 10 and 10. My bunkhouse Bullet sleeps everyone comfortably. Even on rainy days we have enough room inside. Have been to Teddy Roosevelt NP, Glacier NP, Mt Hood SP, Mt Ranier SP and just arrived at Tetons/Yellowstone. Before I left, I added a second battery and switched out the 20# propane tanks with 30's. To give you an idea of real weights, my Bullet's listed dry weights are 5650# and 800# tongue wt. The actual tongue weight loaded up with 10gal water for travel is 1200# measured with a Sureline scale. The actual wet weight is 7800#. I carry a large cooler and Honda 2000 generator inside at the back wall to counter balance the tongue wt.
Towing this setup with my 3/4 ton Burb with the 8.1L has been really nice. Some days have been 8hrs or more driving. Some not so relaxing days have been thru 40mph winds getting to Glacier and (yesterday) towing thru Teton Pass with 10% grades(in 1st gear!). That is where I'm thankful for a heavy duty transmission and brakes! Things got pretty hot on the way down. Today we're day-tripping thru Teton. Good luck with your adventures and be safe!
