A half-ton Burb will be maxed out by a 4000-5000-lb trailer. Any heavier, and stuff starts to break. Ask me how I know. :o
A 3/4-ton Burb will be maxed out by a 7000-8000-lb trailer, depending on cargo and people you're taking along. My family of five maxes out my GVW right at 8600 lbs with a 6500-7000-lb trailer.
You're going to be seriously limited by the half-ton. Rear axle is the weak point, and the limiting factor for payload and tongue weight.
