Sure... but leaving stuff sitting out is just asking for trouble. We all know that windows can be smashed, or doors can be pried open... but a walk-by theft is reduced by locking things away.

Not sure if things are getting worse or if forums like this are making us aware of a lot more that we used to be.

Eitherway, last month while camping with several families in a local state park, one of the families in our group had the cable cut on their EU2000i in the middle of the night. All we found left in the moring was the cut cable and lock. We must have been lucky, there were (4) EU2000i in our group all left out and locked up that night...but only 1 of ours was stolen. Per the Ranger, 5 in total were taken that night, as well the Ranger's gate house was broken into.

Needless to say the rest of the generators were not left out at night for the rest of the trip.

around here TT are pretty safe. the farmers who have sprinkler circles have the wiring stolen all the time. there are thousands of them around this country and it cost thousands of dollars to replace just one circle's wires. they have armed guards patrolling the fields at night. but TT are safe in this country.

I store my TT well away from Austin for this exact reason. The city is growing, and crime has gone up 20% in a year in some parts. If I had a RV storage place that was so bad that I had to bother with some type of lock for power cords, I'd move it further out, as life is too short for worrying about that.

We have never been concerned about anything being stolen from our site before.

In fact, we have only ever heard of anyone we knew having anything "permanently borrowed" was our neibours when out of country.

Most of our friends here all leave TT unlocked etc. Wherever we camp.

Please tell me things will not get any worse.

Seems like some are always after something that doesn't belong to them. I'm lucky so far where I keep my TH. I keep two extra LP tanks for my grill and cooktop and just put stuff under the trailer when I leave. Nothing has ever been messed with over the past two yrs. But, I am right next to the camp hosts and many full timers that I've come to know. I'm sure that helps a lot.

Yes, it is a sorry state we now live in, years back you could leave everything out and go away for the day, now you have to lock everything up even during the day.
