I do also. I store my trailer at a gated facility in Round Rock that has cameras and security. I still have my battery box and propane tanks secured in place with chains and padlocks. I had an attempted battery theft one night while overnighting in a truck stop. Also, when I'm in storage, I store the 30A cord and use an adapter and a Home Depot extension cord, since all I really use is the converter to keep the battery charged and I could really even do without that. I live in Austin and have had several vehicle break-ins in my Condo complex, the latest being the theft of a tailgate off my 2013 Super Duty, so you can tell my sense of humor about this is growing a little thin. If I ever catch anyone stealing from me, it's going to get very noisy, and hopefully I'll be able to see my phone to dial 911 after the smoke clears.

Friends of ours took their brand new trailer home. Someone cut it off flush the first night in their yard.

I ended up having to take my power cord from a pull out stand point to one that is removable. Now I store it inside the trailer but you all are making me more aware that perhaps that should be at home with me and stored in the "camping go-box". Hmmmm

While I would not necessarily go to the extreme of using deadly force to stop the little darlings from swiping my cord, it could be kind of fun to rig up some "trip wires" made from fishing line or similar, and then sit back in the shadows and watch the show.
I also bought one of those "stun gun" flashlights that would sure be fun to play with. I've pointed it at the dog, but she just looked at me with that look of, "don't even think about it, human"

x2. A new cord and labor to replace the ripped out wires is a lot cheaper than hiring a defense attorney for a quad murder case.

Don't forget the press who will side with the "poor, defenseless, misunderstood property liberators who are just looking for something to pay for their next meal or another day's rent."

I don't blame one for defending their property, but even here in Texas, having to front up a $500 deductible for damage done is a lot cheaper than having to deal with the criminal and civil fallout from a firefight.

Sure... but leaving stuff sitting out is just asking for trouble. We all know that windows can be smashed, or doors can be pried open... but a walk-by theft is reduced by locking things away.

I meant propane tanks, batteries, spring bars, ect... stuff often left outside of a locked trailer.

You're right, bring it home, but it is still better out of sight in a locked trailer then just sitting outside of it.

As a child, I lived on a lake. We had a very nice dock out front. Many fisherman knocked on the door and asked for permission to fish off the dock. They were allowed and welcome.

Those that fished there,without asking first, were kicked off our private property ASAP!

Lesson learned: Ask first. So many times campgrounds have "bent" the rules for our three dogs, just because we asked first!

Couple of years ago at our fav SP CG we noticed 2 large families camping in 2 sites together that are perfect for groups. An older large TT and a relatively new tow vehicle + all the grills, stoves, a couple of extra tents for the older kids, etc for a big weekend. The cutest little kids you'd ever want to see and they were having such a great time...really enjoyable just to watch them all. Found out the next weekend from the ranger, that not one thing was actually theirs....all stolen from various people/locations. Who'd a thought.
