- Sandia_ManExplorer IIIt should and is easily verified with a voltmeter. I have a couple of these that I use to keep an eye on battery charging and discharging. Converters provide a charge of 13.2 volts and higher. If you see less than 13 volts when plugged into shorepower your converter is not providing a charge. Could be just a fuse or possibly no AC power to converter.

You can see here the on-board converter/charger unit will operate all of your 12VDC items as well as keep your on-board trailer battery charged when connected to shore power or generator.
Like indicated above to check this is to use a DC VOLTMETER connected to the battery terminals. It will read 12.6-7VDC across the battery terminals for a fully charged battery without shore power connected.
When you connect to shore power this same reading point should now read 13.6VDC telling you the battery is being charged.

I have a 19' KZ Sportsmen 19BH TT and I was wondering if the battery gets charged while the trailer is hooked up to shore power?
Thanks,

It does if everything is connected and working correctly. - esox07ExplorerOK, thanks everyone.
Bruce - Bigbird65ExplorerI leave my TT on shore power all the time that I'm not on the road with it. The voltage at the battery runs 13.7 volts. Once a month I check the liquid level in the battery and add distilled water up to the level of the ring in each cell if it needs it. It never needs much water.
