I have two sets of 30AMP cables here at the house running across the yard to get to my parked trailer. I do the same as others have suggested here and just make sure the connections laying on the ground are raised up and not be laying in a pool of water after it rains.
One of my connections I put inside one of the snap together plastic lid boxes but it really didnt make any difference. It also is sitting on a wood block to keep off the ground.
The RV SALES LOTs sure have many extension cords all plugged into together all over their lot haha... Quite a maze of power cords to step over when looking at the trailers.
