Nothing wrong with deleting or modifying, but this is a government vehicle. These guys just can't go treating it like it belongs to them. They would be opening up a whole can of worms for their department.
To the OP, I'm wondering if it's an actual problem with the truck that's causing this, not just normal emission operation. My department has a 2008 6.4 powered F550 that has very few miles and we've never had a DPF problem with it. It gets driven short distances, but we don't idle it unless we absolutely have to, and we put it on high idle if necessary. With our two engines that have DPFs we shut them down as often as we can. They have small diesel generators that can handle the emergency lighting load with the engine shut down. The only really extended idle periods they have are when pumping at a fire. With lots of hot hydrants in our district, the pumper's motors barely do any work when pumping.
