should have got gas.

OK so my vol fire dept bought this really nice2012 F550 attack pumper last year and they justhad to have the power stroke in it. A fwe of us tryed to tell them to go with the V10 but they were dead set with the diesel. Well its now going back to the ford dealer ship to have a forced regen done to it after only 2300 miles.

This thing well not regen just driving down the road and now its in a reduced power mode.

So now we are going to spend more money to find a good delete kit to get all this emission******off this truck.

Any good ideas for a kit.

Do you really want your vol fire truck to be in violation of Federal law? A personal vehicle might be different,(not really) but I don't know if I would do that with the dept's rig. IMO I would seek out other options or have Ford find the problem.

    Agree.

    OP you are kidding yes?

Can't see the decision makers getting on board with an illegal delete that would also toast the warranty on a truck with 2300mi but hey, I guess it depends upon where you are & who's in charge.

The makers of the Edge Bullydog got in huge trouble, and have to pay for a rebate program to help sell a huge bunch of emissions reducing corn pellet stoves as part of a settlement to help reduce the excessive smog that their products have caused on trucks it was installed in.

In other words, the company was taken to court, had to pay a $200,000 + fine, and the Government figured out their products caused excessive soot to be released by the trucks such products where installed in, and therefor they have to pay for a $150 rebate to people wanting to install a emissions reducing pellet stove in their homes - this will offset some of the soot the Bullydog Edge caused.

It can get very expensive to deal with the EPA.

I would not change a thing. However taking the truck for a 100 mile drive every other month is a great idea. Then refill it with new clean fuel.

    You're kidding right? :R
  • It should regen using low gears and allowing the engine to wind up, even in town.
I agree, a V-10 would have been a better choice.
