Should they fix it?

Probably not covered by the warranty once you take possession of the RV. These gutters can be broken by brushing against trees, or the cover moving in the wind, and when putting the cover on or off.

or ice build up. its easier to fix yourself, just think how long your rv will sit at the dealers lot ? maybe a month or longer. if you can,t do the labor,hire a local gutter company. or a rv tech. not worth the trouble to go to the dealer.

Is it just the little extended drip thingy or the whole gutter rail?

Chances are you "almost snapped off" that rain gutter with the cover. Question is, did you protect the gutter so it wouldn't tear through the cover? My bet is your dealer would say exactly the same thing, so no, owner error damage shouldn't be covered by warranty.

I replaced one of mine last year. Bought a pair of replacements on Amazon. Took the broken one off, cleaned up the area with a utility knife. Put in One screw to hold it in place, using the same screw hole from the broken one. Good RV sealant to cover the screw and where it butts up onto the gutter. Fifteen minute job to set up the ladder, do the work and put the ladder away. Spent less than $10

It's just the extension. I imagine I can fix it myself. I just have to have confidence in myself, this forum, and YouTube...

Last camper we had didn't have any. I installed 4 on it in about 1/2 hour. One screw and sealant. It just slide behind the roof gutter. Not worth the gas to take it the dealer or time to wait for it.

I can't visualize putting on or taking a cover off a trailer without harming the extended rain gutter. My guess is the dealer will blame you.
I would fix it myself. If you don't fix it or get it fixed, you'll have stains coming down that corner of your new trailer

PVC cement worked on mine ,at $195 per hour I do it all myself !

Rain gutter extension....no way would I even consider hauling it back to the dealer for something like that.
I can almost guarantee that it was damaged when the cover was pulled on or off. Easy to fix.
