glad you checked the air filter and got it replaced.
we bought a used 2008 Toyota van from the dealer, 50K miles, had been used as a rental vehicle,
yes, I know people do not always take proper care of them as they normally say, " drive it like you stole it"
but its has proven to be a good vehicle and the dealer said they get great service.
who knows,
issue: a few months after purchase I find that it has a in cabin air filter, never had a vehicle before with this filter.
so I bought a replacement filter and my son pulled the old one out.
it looked like the hair on the back of a wooly dog.
did not let mama bear see the filter, just replaced it and when on.
that was one filter that did not get changed on their grant master maintenance program.
do not think my 2005 dodge diesel TV has this in cabin filter.
but, if you have one, need to at least check it from time to time as you are breathing the air that goes through it.
