I think you are over complicating it. Just tighten the star wheel until the shoes just start to rub the drum and you are ready for a test drive. Recheck after the test drive if there was a lot of adjustment or they still do not feel right. Make note if drums are similar temperature after the test drive.
A clamp-on DC ammeter will confirm all magnets are getting about 3 amps and are close to equal. (great excuse to buy a new tool :) )
Just be glad it is not an old VW Bus. Those are very touchy and the front must be perfect or you go into a spin.
