Back up camera.....(hard wired).

You have a new truck with factory nav but doesn’t have tpms or backup cam? Thought those options were pretty much standard on all trucks these days. I would’ve thought a trim level with nav would have those options too.

Good questions. I don't know ford trim levels, but I have the lowest trim level Ram 2500 (tradesmen) and it has both tpms and backup cam. Pretty sure tpms is federally required on all US/CAN vehicles for at least the past 10-15 years?

edit: doh just realized, after market tpms is probably for a trailer and not the truck?

TPMS is for the 5th wheel. Ford has a camera but it is a hard wire system. TPMS and backup will be after market wireless.

What's wrong with a hard wire camera? Every wireless camera I've tried (granted I only tried a few priced under $100) is either plagued with interference, had very limited range or a weird delay. None of those problems with the hard wire.

On my dashboard, I have a Garmin Dezi RV760 in a "bean bag" mount, just sitting in the center of the dash.

To the right of the rear view mirror I have a Go Pro suction cup mount, for recording out the windshield, scenic drives and such.

I also have a gooseneck holder for a tablet, which provides auxiliary navigation, that's mounted to a passenger seat bolt and is in the central console area, not on the dash.

I have a larger screen for my backup camera, that I velcroed to the top of the driver's sunvisor. When I want to look at the camera, all I have to do is flip the visor down, and it doesn't take up any dash space that way. I have it wired to two cameras that I can select between, one at bumper level that looks straight out behind me, and another at the top edge of my camper top that looks straight down on my hitch and makes single-person hitching much easier.

I am tall and almost never use my sunvisor to block the sun, so the screen isn't in my way. Other folks that use their visor a lot may not like this arrangement as well.

Since the OP has a 5er I am thinking he is meaning a TPMS and backup camera for the 5er. 5ers are now coming with wireless backup cameras.

I thought the new Ford had those features built in but maybe I’m mistaken......:@
