side step hight

new 3500 ram 4x4
it is high off ground. need side steps. have look at other posts, but cant tell if any are lower to the ground. are any made that have longer bracket to lower them. Ram is higher than Chevy and Ford.
really don't care for the auto ones.
  • I put running boards on our 2wd right after getting it. We went to a local accessory store and ordered them. I installed them. For the '11 Jeep I ordered running boards from running boards.com. They were a perfect match and complete instructions included. They were easy to install.
  • We have the OEM side steps and they work fine. Truck is tall!!! Chris

  • These are the bars on my 13. They are from Ram. They are great and I couldn't imagine trying to get in without them.

These are the ones I put on my 2005.

  • When I got my Ram in 08 my wife threw a fit about getting in and out. Next day I ordered a set of tube steps from JC whitney for less than 300.00 and they have been great since. Just enough to use to get in but not enough to drag when off roading

  • AMP Research Power Steps are great. They are adjustable and drop down further than the factory step rails. They also retract out of sight when the door is closed. They are a bit expensive compared to factory steps.
  • We have Amp steps/running boards on our 2500 4x4 Ram truck. They work well for us as they come down a little further and out from the truck a little further also. Wife says they make it easier to get in and out of the 2500 than it was the 1500 Ram 4x4 we use to have with factory running boards.

hello Russ, you seem to be our go to guy for info.
are these the stock ones from dealer.
and if I order online are all steps going to be same height?
we drive to Idaho Monday to get truck. am so excited

Mine are not steps, but wheel well to wheel well running boards. I like as the surface doesn't get muddy, and they keep the sides of the truck clean.

This is the best picture I have of them.

This was the first request from the DW when we bought our Ram, I ended up putting full length running boards on. Best thing I did to the truck, we both have easy step into cab, and I use the back part to access the bed and tool box.
