Agreed - No Silicone!! Silicone is bad news for any exterior sealing efforts.
I make a lot of money doing extensive repairs and rebuilds because people insist on using silicone to seal things with!!
I used to use and recommend a lot of polyurethane caulking, until I did a test on my own TT. I resealed my corner moldings with it and it came apart and split after a year of travels.
About 2 years ago I started using
Titebond Weathermaster for all my solarium builds and repairs. This stuff is amazing! First sealant I have ever found that will actually stick to wet mill finish aluminum.
It is a polymer based sealant and so far I have not had any issues or failures with it.
It has huge joint movement, which is important for RV use. It stretches like a rubber band. It also cures to a stretchy soft rubber like consistency. Tensile strength is excellent. I am using it extensively and really find it superior to anything I have used before.
I use it for sealing glass to aluminum and different flashings, trims etc.
