I oonverted mine a couple years ago. I replaced the sink faucet with one from home depot. I placed a shower valve in front of my sink, it sticks out a bit, but has been no problem. Tee off the cold and hot input lines to the sink and run them to the valve. Add a wall valve next to the shower handle and attach you shower wand to this. Works great and you have real brass/metal plumbing then. The wall connection was expensive for what it was, was a lot cheaper at Amazon once I had already purchased one at the local plumbing store for $30.
Very happy I did it, also replaced the plastic kitchen unit at the same time.
Sounds simple enough. I'm a plumbing idiot - have me replace just one washer and it'll take me seven hours and three trips to Home Depot. :S You wouldn't happen to have a pic would you?
