Ron and I both drive our 3500's (DRW and SRW) in the winter as daily drivers. I would not attack a guys bike! Riding in the winter in the SW is special vs staying in the NW in the winter! I have a friend in our park that just got a 2008 Goldwing trike with only 5500 miles on the clock and I am jealous.
No bike attack from me, just saying Ron has some nice options, the hot red truck, and a great bike!
The bike pictured looks like new, and low mileage too. Nice your friend is enjoying it! I am not a fan of the 3-wheeled bikes, just not my style, and IMO, more dangerous. I would likely get a Fiat Spider, or Mazda Miata, to play with, if I moved away from two wheels.
Not sure if you have a bike background Chris? If so, you should get another. It doesn't have to be fancy to get lots of enjoyment. However, often times people in their 50s or up, get their first bike, only to get injured or worse.
