Skyline Joey Nomad 26 ft, opinions?

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-travel-trailer-camper/sarnia/2012-26ft-skyline-joey-nomad-260-model/1268277703?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

there's nothing like getting a new bigger tv, all of a sudden new options open up for a trailer!!

this 26 ft skyline is up locally, we like the floor plan, 1 small slide out, haven't seen it yet

should be a walk in the park for the ram 1500
  • We had a 95 Layton. It was a very well built camper and I would own another skyline product in a heart beat.

    Thanks!

  • My 89 Layton is a skyline product and is mearly 29 yrs old and still holding up well. I also had a 1992 skyline boomer that was a decent trailer.

I wouldn't get overconfident about your rams payload. What is your payload limit on your yellow door jamb sticker? Ram 1500s have low payload limits due to the rear coil spring suspension. Double check all your weights, cargo in the cab and bed of your ram to be sure. You may be within your limits, but i bet it's a whole lot cliser6 than you think on a 26' rig
  • Skyline made Layton/Nomad TTs and Aljo 5th wheel trailers
Bought a new '84 26" Aljo RB (rear bath). We had it for eight years and double towed a 3500 lb bass boat behind it all that time. Great unit for the price.
Lots of rv trailers out here that are orphans like my current '97 Park Avenue..... and a host of others.
  • I have a Joey 196. The fit and finish is great with the trailer being very solid.
You are aware that they are no longer made?
  • We had that floor plan in a WildCat TT and liked it very much. I think it would be a great choice.
  • the truck has the 5.7 hemi and 8 speed, 4wd. plenty of payload left over
im wondering more about the tt itself
  • I had that exact layout in a Layton 5W (made by Skyline) my GMC 1500 5.3 pulled it fair. It was a little anemic on any long hills. If your trucks set to tow, see if they will let you hook up and see how it pulls.
