Sleeping in cabover when TC is on the ground.

I am new to truck campers. We made our first outing over the last couple of days and loved it. Out TC is a 2002 Adventurer 100 WSB. I am wondering whether it is safe to sleep in the cabover bed, when the camper is not mounted on the truck. We are thinking we may want to make a trip and park the camper for a week and have the truck to go sightseeing. DW and I together tip the scales at a total close to 400 lbs. Add about 30 lbs. of canine to that for the total tipping power. What say ye?
  • Yes you can - but I was a nervous wreck the first few times we slept in our Lance off the truck. I think the first time I insisted DH park the truck under the front of the camper so if it tipped, it would come to rest on the truck bed. Not sure that was such a good idea, but it helped alleviate my tip over fears.
  • They don't tip over at rv shows or on dealers lots when people and there kids pile up in the cabover.
If your jack feet are on solid ground and not in soft sand, there is no reason why a 3000-4000# tc would tip from using it as intended by the mfg.
