Slide lock security system

Has anyone heard of the Alta Slide Lock security system? It's an adjustable bar that is placed inside the TT wedged between the wall and the retracted slide. It runs alongside the upper part of the slide that is inside the TT, preventing the slide from accidentally opening while traveling. Reminds me of the concept of placing a bar in the track of a sliding glass door to prevent opening the door. I don't know how to post a link but found it on Dyers website.
  • Unless it is designed for it, you may just be bracing the interior trim against the lock - nothing structural. I would close the slide, and carefully check before spending money.
  • Same yourself some $, this looks like the same thing made for pick up truck beds and sold in auto stores.
  • On my brothers 5th wheel he just stands on a step and reaches over the top of the slide to pull on it slightly then wedges a 2X6 in there vertically. He has found a reinforced spot on the wall and uses a coaster between the wall and the 2X6 so that it doesn't leave a mark on the wall.
