Slide out a little or all the way AF990 EC960 Lance 995?

We are thinking of moving up to a model with a slide. At this point focusing on the EC960, AF990, or Lance 995.
First quesiton - can you reasonably get in and do the baisics - get to fridge, use bathroom, sit and eat at dinette with out movnig the slide out?
Second question - can you/dare you just bump the slide out a say six inches or should/must you take it all the way out each time?
Thanks everyone.
  • We have a Lance 981 we can use all the facilities with it in me 5.11 195*wife a little tight but when in all is good

  • We have the EC 960.I'm 6'2'' 240 and it's tight to get into the camper but once you're in it's perfectly useable. Bathroom door is a slider so it functions normally. lots of room to get into the fridge, dinette is the same. Cooking is a little tight but workable, oven and all. We've even use it with out two St Bernards in there while the slide is in. I wouldn't want to stay that way for days on end but it's absolutely useable. We bump it out just a few inches all the time for easy access while on the road for lunch and things.
  • Hi Mattyd - our Snowbird / Snow River camper can be used with the slide in or out. We don't think we would want one that you could not. They are an orphan brand now. Well made campers with common brand equipment and appliances.
  • We use our's without putting the slide out at times.

There's no problem getting in and out of the bathroom or the camper if you aren't too large. I'm about 185 lb.

I'm guessing, but I'd say that there is maybe 11 - 12 inches between the dinette and bathroom door. There's less distance at the floor as the slide out floor is maybe 4 inches wider than the dinette, but still room to get through.

    AF, NO.

TO get in the bathroom, you need to put the slide out some.

I can get in in my AF and use all of it. Been in some really rough weather and thought about bring the slide in. Camper is perfectly usable with it in. Best thing to do would be to try it yourself.
  • Keep in mind, if you dont fully slide it out, your seals are not in use and you will have air leaking in when it is cold and water leaking in when it is raining.
  • We have a AF 990 and are not large people, we can get into the camper without the slide open, can use the bathroom, get to the refer and sit at the dinette. You can just bump out the slide and then it is much easier to do all the above.
