Slide out not sliding

How old is your trailer battery? If old, it may not be holding an adequate charge to work the slide.

I had a slide not moving, last year. It would not turn after releasing the motor, and it turned out to be a loose needle bearing in the motor gear box. The motor was likely okay, although I changed both together from a surplus place in CA. I would not want to have to go through what it would take to run my slide in by hand. I would have to turn the square transfer rod with an adjustable wrench after I had taken off the access panel underneath and sat on the ground (which I would hope was not muddy at the time, or in a creek!) You can attach cables directly from the motor to a known good battery but try to leave enough cable to reattach after repair. hth david

You are still connected to AC power and your battery is good, fully charged then problem may be slide out motor, open/close switch contacts, bad ground.

If you are not on AC power....then check battery voltage.
Slide out motors take 30A and up. That requires a good battery

I was back and hooked up to AC and it was working fine. Finally got to winterization today and as I was sliding it in for the last time this season, it stopped again. Could the sporadic nature of this indicate a problem with the slide out motor?

try cleaning the battery connections, I had a problem with mine ,they looked o.k. but after cleaning and retightening it worked fine.

had a problem with my slide ,problem was the battery connections ,it worked fine after cleaning them.it was a head scracher because lights etc were working.

And don't expect it to move easily with the handle. It takes quite a bit of force to move it. Also make sure the handle is removed before trying again with the button.

If you can move it with the hand crank your problem is most likely electrical. If you can not move it with the hand crank your problem is certainly mechanical.
You might want to start with the crank.

Thanks for e everyones suggestions. I will hook upmthe tv and try that. Regarding the crank, i neednto find my manual to learn how to do that. It just jumped to thentop of my todo list.
