I believe you should put more emphasis on the quality of the trailer rather than the floor plan. Some manufacturers have more problems because they build a lower quality product. If you are worried about having issues then start researching how they are built before you spend a bunch on a trailer. Then you will be confident in your decision.
Find out if the roof and floors are marine plywood or chipboard for starters. Wood studs in the walls or aluminum? Since water leaks are the most destructive thing that can happen to a new trailer I would want one made from as many rot resistant products as possible. Chipboard swells and gets weak with even the slightest water and makes a terrible building material for a structure that is going to be dragged through driving rain storms at hurricane speeds
There are a few manufacturers that build a better trailer. They cost a bit more and you may have to go a few years old to get one for $16,000 but they will still be usable when you are done with the payments.
