Slide out

We just bought a lot at a private campground to keep our TT at since we don't travel much with it. Is it ok to leave the slide out out, or is it better to slide it in when we're not using it?
I was wondering if having that extra weight on one side for long periods of time would put to much stress on that side.
  • I see no reason whatsoever to leave the slides out if we are not using the RV
    for a week or so
  • Use these slide supports:
    Slide Supports

    A different opinion.
Strongly Not recommended by most if not all manufacturers..
    The slide can support itself,
If a tire goes down while using these, the trailer will settle, but the slide can't - thus binding/tweaking the room and damaging the mechanism.

If you have a slide topper cover, it will live a lot longer with the slide in when no one is there. Old sol is pretty hard on the materials and also wind will work on it. :)

I can think of many, many reason for bringing it in IF you are not using your rig.

Can't think of any for leaving the slie out when it is vacant.

Care to elaborate? I'm new to slides this year, would like gather as much intel as I can before the season starts.

  • Should not make a difference. When we full timed our slides were often out 6 months at a time. No worries.
