I have a topper on my AF1140 slide. Usually I like it. There are times in heavy winds when I wish it was not there. 80 percent of the time I like having it. I don't think you will find a better "seal" system out there on any slide out if you are buying an AF, so a slide topper isn't required to just keep the water out.
