Slide Topper Length

I posted this on the Keystone Owners Forum but I thought that I would get more views here for a solution.

I am wanting to get a slide topper for the single slide on a 2014 Keystone Bullet 246RBS. I am not where I can measure the slide anytime soon so I called Keystone and was told that they have no idea what the slide lengths are on their campers. I thought that was kinda odd. I am wanting the black Dometic Elite EZ topper and read that I should order the length of the slide plus 6" more. I also read that I could save a ton of money in labor costs by doing the installation myself and that the EZ version is more user friendly to install. Also, where is a good place to order from that includes everything I would need? I keep coming across sites that don't include the mounting hardware or something else.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I attached a picture of what it should look like installed.

  • Gee, Keystone....if YOU don't know what size the slides are, who would???????
    A little confidence shaker.

They were awesome when I got mine. They can probably tell you what size you need

Thanks, looks like they have the best prices around as well. Wish I could order the Dometic Elite without the fabric and get that from Tough Tops. :)

  • Can you get the entire topper, hardware and all mounting parts, from Tough Top? All I see is how to measure and order replacement fabric.

My original post might be misleading. The picture is not my trailer. I was just showing how the topper looks on the same model camper I have. I have no topper at all right now and need to order the entire thing.
  • Just go to Tough Top awnings and order one. They will tell you how to measure, etc. I bought 2 from them and installed them myself.
  • I had the Elite slide topper installed on my unit. I don't like the metal wrap because if there is water on the awning and I am bring the slide in, the metal can get caught down and not wrap over to top like it is suppose to do. I have had it to actually stop the slide. If I were doing it over again I would not get the metal wrap.
  • if you go to utube and look up rv awning replacement RV Geeks they tell you how to measure and replace the awning. if you go to tough top awning web sight they also will tell you how to measure. by the way, tough top awnings are far better and cheaper than OEM materials. I bought an awning for my two slides for less than it would cost me to get just the large slide awning from a dealer.
  • call a dealer that sells that trailer close to you and hgave them order it.That is one of the easiest and in my opinon best ones made i installed 3 on a fiver in about 3 hours
