I think factory should provide mud dauber screens and other accessories like stinky slinky as well. Those are really needed.
I don't have slider stabilizers, and so far have not seen the need. I can certainly understand why one of the posters would see the value though... If I had a couple of 200 lb kids horsing around in my slide room, I'd consider it as well.
I would think, set up properly, just using the stabilizer to stabilize not "lift", wouldn't be a problem. But, I have no direct experience.
So far I see only one post of actual experience.
EDIT: Ooops... two with actual experience.
